One afternoon while cleaning my closet, much to my delight, I found a bag of unused fabric. Another afternoon of cutting, sewing, and stitching yielded this floral skirt, a welcome addition to my summer wardrobe. The seashell bar and purple stone rings were designed by me and assembled with the help of a crafty friend. I also have my friend Jill of Oh My Manicure to thank for my super cute nails, the color of which I'm obsessed with! I must purchase a bottle of my own.

Schoolwork has taken over my life these past two weeks and has impaired my ability to blog. If you saw my planner with its sporadic 'to-do' notes and ramblings of sorts, you'd believe me. Finally found a pocket of time to snap some photos today.

I definitely feel like chambray + camel hues were meant to be. I found this ultra-soft BCBGMaxAzria cardigan at -- you guessed it, my local Goodwill. I fell in love with the gorgeous camel and moreover, with the price -- $3.99, can't go wrong with that.

Does the mere thought of velvet conjure a memory of your childhood, the days in which your mother dressed you and your sibling(s) in matching velvet ensembles to take pictures with the Santa Claus in your local mall? Does it do that for me? I shall never tell. Luckily, I will revel in the sweet success of finding a great pair of velvet wedges at a horrid mall store I worked at long ago. Please note, this store is the last place I'd ever expect to find a decent pair of affordable shoes. Lo and behold, I did. For $28, I couldn't not buy them. They vaguely remind me of those amazing Topshop Wisteria wedges. Perhaps a DIY is in order to turn these lovelies into a Wisteria-inspired piece.

The blouse idea came to me several months ago when I started to cut and sew pieces of this great gold-flecked stretch cotton fabric; however, nothing went right with it -- it wouldn't hang correctly, and I kept sewing crookedly. Frustrated, I threw it into my closet, disregarding it as an unfinished project. An entire afternoon of sewing yesterday yielded these results: I revisited the cut pieces and finally finished it, turning it into a cropped blouse. The floral skirt took me about an hour and a half to sew. I found the fabric at a local warehouse sale at a deeply discounted price. Score!

On this beautiful Spring afternoon I wore a self-made racerback floral print dress with American Apparel thigh high socks and Target ankle boots. Kash's Mickey Mouse ears added a touch of whimsy. One of our favorite past-times is frolicking about our favorite park. I love the Springtime.

Hello, blogspot. A formal update has been long overdue. I am now on spring break, which is generally synonymous with free time; however, my to-do list would suggest otherwise. Included on said list is updating this neglected blog of mine, something I've been meaning to do for quite some time.
